The Death Cure, the title itself gives a sense of hopefulness, does it?

To be frank, I was bored by the first half of the book. The storyline was rather dull and it made me felt that Dashner had no idea where the story was supposed to head to. Maze Runner was good, so was Scorch Trials, but The Death Cure, no, I can’t say it’s even close to good. It’s actually quite bad.

Another thing is, Teresa and Brenda, they were interchangeable. They sort of played the similar role to Thomas. I’ve read a few reviews about people fighting over these two characters. I’m like “wth?” I mean, there isn’t a point choosing who is better who is lousier. Both seemed the same to me, both were traitors, both had feelings for Thomas.

Besides that, gosh, I thought Flare was caused by the sun flare (literally)…turns out, no, it was all due to mankind. Sure… misgivings……

Let’s talk about the characters other than Thomas, Brenda and Teresa. Well, Minho is bright than ever but he could just “slim it” more. Newt, nice guy but I was so sad when he turned to a Crank and eventually dead. *sobs*

Aris. Aris. Who the hell is Aris again? You probably have a hard time remembering him. Jorge..Jorge..or was it George? Yeah. That’s the point. Dashner totally forgot about these peeps towards the end of the story. I feel sorry for them, okay, I know they are just fictional characters.

However, the ending of the story gave the readers a new hope (I guess?). The survivors are given a chance to start all over again and begin civilization, aren’t they? So, look at the bright side, the purpose of ensuring the survival of the human race has still been achieved!

Meanwhile, sad thing is the rest of the world is driven to extinction, which led to the next point….

There isn’t any cure. For the Flare. But I thought Chancellor Paige stated in the letter given to Thomas that WICKED had sufficient blueprints to develop the cure?

What did I like about the book? Basically, I don’t like it as much as I do for the first two books. Mainly it’s because there are too many “plot-holes” and many questions aren’t being answered.

Apologies because I rant more than I review. But really, you can’t imagine the expectation I had when I’ve been reading the series… I just didn’t expect it to end it this way.
